Sleepy Floyd
In gathering what I need to get back into the game, been away for 8 yrs. I just acquired 2 new Taylors 38/357 rifles. One a trapper model the other a short rifle. Fills out my stable of rifles. my others are 1866 and 1860 in 45C I need to replace the stock sights for some marbles with a gold colored front. My question is Which height do I need? Thanks, Sleepy
Chancy Shot, SASS #67163
Unless there is something else going on, measure the stock sites and go with that. Chancy
Pb Mark
My new 1873 short rifle 357 came with a 0.375" height front sight. It shot too high for me and required a 0.41" front sight (rear sight bottomed on the ladder) to shoot POA at 25 yards. Might test both rifles with the loads you are using and decide from there. Garrison Joe, SASS #60708
Uberti uses a 0.410" high front sight on most of their models. Especially 19,20 and 24" barrel models. good luck, GJ
