Widder, SASS #59054 Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 A fellow Cowboy shooter, SLATER, is repairing a Marlin that needs a forward barrel band and screw. Barrel length is 20". He's come up with a blank, BUT..... he has been told that a Rossi 92 barrel band would work..... BUT, he can't find one of those either. Can someone post some helpful info that might lead him in the right direction. Slater is a SASS merchant and if anyone needs to call him, I can post his business phone number to contact him. Thanks ..........Widder
G W Wade Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 I have a Pioneer Speed Bead that I do not need. New in bag with screw. GW
Griff Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 The Rossi has the front sight mounted to the front band. It might take me forever to dig thru my stuff, but... I have an 1894 front band I took off a 44Mag carbine when I converted it to 45 Colt with a Cowboy Limited octagon bbl... might need refinishing as it's been a few years since I've even seen it; the screw might be a bigger problem for me...? I'm also supposed to have a couple of front bands for 94 Winchesters, but... alas... all appear to have disappeared from my parts cache. Must be put away for safe keeping! Shoulda looked first!
Pb Mark Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 Does the caliber matter for a proper fit? Can find various barrel bands on ebay. Pricing requires deep pockets though. Pic of typical example.

I put stuff away like that too. I'm still looking for some pistol mags I put away for safe keeping. I guess they are too safe!!!
Widder, SASS #59054 Posted April 7, 2023 Author Posted April 7, 2023 Thanks everyone for the replies and info. I'll tell Slater (who don't visit the Wire often) and if he wants to communicate with any of you, he can get on the Wire himself. I think some of Y'all can help him. Again... Thanks. ..........Widder
