Grass Range
Wanted breech block for an IAM EMF model 74. The one I have has an elongated fired pin hole and will not fire consistently. Tried IAB an EMF sites to no avail
Sedalia Dave
Get a competent welder to tig weld the hole and redrill it or have a machinists install a bushing. There are likely a few gunsmiths here that can do that. Boomstick Jay comes to mind.
The Original Lumpy Gritz
Find a smith that can install a bushing in the bolt-face for that FP. OLG

Grass Range
Thanks-Tried all those, no help. I will try Broomstick Jay to see if he can weld and drill. I limit my welding to farm machinery

OLG This is probably the better way, rather than welding. If welded the breech block would need to be heat treated again I would think. I think that is the problem you are trying to fix now, improper heat treating allowing the hole to wallow out.

It was the soft junk steel that was used, is the real issue with IAB. If that was mine-I'd hang on the wall and find a better made rifle. IAB=It Always Breaks.........
