You have a point...
Enjoy the next 24 hours is nicer because it's a longer duration than the rest of the current day.
The phrase "have a nice day" is so over-used that hearing it tells me the person really couldn't give a rat's buttocks whether I have a nice day or not, and they're simply uttering it as a way to break contact. Saying ANYTHING else tells me they at least thought about it for a moment.

Cowboy: "I'll be seeing you."
