Lawman Mays
I own an 1860 Henry Rifle made by the HRA Co in USA. The action is stiff compared to my 73 Codymatic and the trigger pull is around 8 lbs. I might want to use it one day at a CA match. Has anyone tried to short stroke and slick this gun up? Which of the CA Smiths out there work on this particular gun? It's not a Uberti and the parts a little different.
Goody, SASS #26190
I would suggest the same guy that did your Codymatic.

Driftwood Johnson, SASS #38283
Howdy I can tell you for a fact it is possible to slick up an Uberti 1860 Henry and short stroke it. Plenty of aftermarket short stroke links that will fit the Uberti model and the rest is just lightening the hammer spring and trigger spring and smoothing up the parts. Any Cowboy gunsmith worth his salt should be able to do it. Regarding the 1860 Henry made by Henry Repeating Arms, I have no idea if the after market short stroke links will fit. However the rest of it, smoothing it up and lightening the springs should not be a problem for any good Cowboy gunsmith.
