Lowering the hammer spur on an 1861 Sheriff

Sadie has decided she likes my 1861 so she wants to shoot frontiersman.  I bought her a new one from Dixie Gun Works and exchanged the grip with a bird' head set a friend gave me.  The bird's head fit her hand better and she uses that grip on her Cimmaron Lightnings.  However, thumbing the hammer is a bit of a stretch for her.  Is there any problem lowering the hammer, and if not who can do it?  I can do the basic slicking up, but not something like modifying the hammer.

Hey Artie!  As long as you are ruining the looks of the gun by lowering the hammers (haha!) you might think about having him graft wider spurs on as well.  If Sadie hasn't ever handled any guns with the wide spurs, ask around at your next match as several are sure to have them.

Thanks guys.  Boomstick was the first one I thought of actually.  Thanks for the web site info.  Hi Wymore.  Run N Iron has done some work for me too, but Boomstick is closer and I can see him locally.
