Cat Brules Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Used to be a very large number of fine character actors and I don't believe that is true today.
Trailrider #896 Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 Edgar Buchanan played any number of characters, from a brief appearance as a lawyer in Donovan's Reef, to a "retired" outlaw in several episodes of "Tales of Wells Fargo". He was also Uncle Joe on Petticoat Junction. Jack Elam played town drunks, outlaws, lawmen, characters in "Support Your Local Sherriff" and its sequel, "Support Your Local Gunfighter" with James Garner. DeForest Kelly played in a bunch of Westerns before become Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy on Star Trek. Even Leonard Nimoy played a murderer on Perry Mason!
Hoss Carpenter Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 And don't forget Dub Taylor, the Father of Buck Taylor. Buck was Newly on Gunsmoke in the later years. Also in Tombstone. Dub had a high pitched voice and was a great character actor. Cheers, Hoss C.
The Blarney Kid Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Leonard Nimoy was also the bad guy in the movie "Catlow". It was based on a Louis L'Amour book, it starred Yul Brynner.
