Abilene Slim SASS 81783
Wife & I are watching "Bosch" an Amazon TV series. Episode we just watched shows a funeral for an officer killed in the line of duty (LAPD). Looks exactly like a military funeral. 21 gun salute with M1 Garands, Taps and presentation of a folded flag to mother of downed LEO. Is this how it happens with a civilian LEO funerals, or a fabrication of Hollywood?
Knot Hardly Dunn, SASS 43113
To a great extent it will depend on the wishes of the family. I have severed in several funeral details tha had no firing party at the request of the family. The reason given was not to be reminded of their loved ones cause of death. Flag presentation, playing of taps or Amazing Grace on the pipes is very commOn.

Badlands Bob #61228
21 gun salute, Honor Guard, taps, bagpipes, missing man helicopter flyover, 5 mile long procession. Last call radio transmission for the fallen officer. It's a gut wrenching experience.
John Barleycorn, SASS #76982
Don't forget the wake after where we share all the memories of our departed friend.
Smoken D
The last cops homicide I worked, also was a close friend, when the wheelmen reached the cemetery, the last car was leaving the church, 10 miles away. Was a bit of a wait for everyone to reach the cemetery.
