Three Foot Johnson
Not mine, project rifle on a popular gun auction site that I can't post a link to, but if you keyword "Win 1873 .38-40 Project Rifle", it will come up. Looks like enough there to make it work, just need a front sight/barrel band. Two hours til the auction ends, no bids yet.

Tom Bullweed
My gun. Too many projects. I need to fund a High Wall project. I already have an original 1873 and 1892 in the .38-40 chambering and was not motivated to finish this one.
Bramble Mountain Buzzard
I would have thought that the parts alone were worth 3 times what the final bid was...
Tom Bullweed
Covered my investment. A local 'smith offered the barreled receiver/complete lower tang assembly for a steal. He said that he made $3000 on it based on his estimated time to rebuild versus the $90/hr he charges to work on guns. I bought and fitted the sideplates and wood. I bought links, a lever and a carrier lifter. I fitted a muzzleloader buttplate. At this point, the gun needs some timing work, a loading gate, sights and the final wood finishing. It should make a decent shooter for Mudflat Mike.
Three Foot Johnson
Except it was somebody going by "mighail", not mudflatmike, who won it @ $430.55 - not a bad deal at all... I probably should have bid it up a bit.

Bramble Mountain Buzzard
Can't "snipe" on GunBroker. Bidding automatically resets to 15 minutes in the final 15 minutes.
