Irish Pat
My 3rd gen Colt is smooth as silk 99% of the time but every once and a while, it refuses to turn at all when you attempt to cock the hammer.. Where do i need to look first? Irish Pat
Cliff Hanger #3720LR
If the gun has works well in the past, I would start by looking for high primers. Also make sure the cylinder pin is where it's suppose to be.
Chickasaw Bill SASS #70001
you may also want to check the bolt spring , they will crack and give somewhat the same problem Chickasaw Bill
the Black Spot
My colt clone ended up being a cylinder face and rear of barrel out of square.
Cliff Hanger #3720LR
Had a third thought. Some brass is coming through my shop with over spec rims. If you have a close fit cylinder to recoil shield then the thicker rim will not rotate through.

Snakebite
When it happens, look to see if the bolt is up, into the cylinder notch. If it is not, then I would look at the hand. sb
J-BAR #18287
When the problem occurs, how far back will the hammer move?
