Deuce Stevens SASS#55996
Finally got the nerve up and had my 1873 Deluxe turned into a trapper. 16.5" barrel. Been playing with it a bit and really like the way it handles. Next I am going to get it Cerakoted. http://smg.photobucket.com/user/deucestevens45/media/E8AE84A9-AD16-4D17-B440-ACDFBEC56762-2199-000002FE43AF5105_zps1a3a8617.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0#/user/deucestevens45/media/E8AE84A9-AD16-4D17-B440-ACDFBEC56762-2199-000002FE43AF5105_zps1a3a8617.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0&_suid=136646659216009235616086796651
Widder, SASS #59054
Deuce, I'm as much a Marlin feller as anyone but I've told friends for years that I love those trapper size 73's. I particularly love those Texas Brush Poppers. I've got a couple 16.5" Marlins, one factory, one custom octagonal. Both in .45. But those 73's are beautiful and special. That IS a beautiful rifle ya got. See ya in GA! ..........Widder
largo casey #19191
I've got a 66 Navy Arms in 44/40 that I worked on so it would hold 10 when needed. It sure is a fun one to shoot...Largo
Abe E.S. Corpus SASS #87667
I found a good buy on a .38 Special '66 when I was looking for a rifle for my wife (the Lovely Jirafa Velocidad ) but it was a 20" short rifle and it was heavy. I talked to Ottway Smith about shortening the tube; he cut it down to about seventeen inches; I shortened the stock as well. It is very handy now; I'm betting a '73 of that length would handle great. I'm almost tempted to shorten the tube on my rifle but I don't want to be a copycat.
