A Lesson in Irony

Recommended Posts

A lesson in irony.

The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is actually proud of the fact it is distributing the greatest amount of free meals and food stamps ever in the history of the program.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us to "Please Do Not Feed the Animals." Their stated reason for the policy is because the animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves.

This ends today's lesson.

Unfortunately there are many who will not understand the profound message in this simple paragraph.

The government of this country has, in too many areas, lost its bearing. As have many of the inhabitants.

this might close us down, but a friend sent me this and I couldn't stop laughin'

It has been leaked to the press that Barack Obama has chosen Sylvester Stallone for his 2012 running mate, Nancy Pelosi for Secretary of State, and is dropping Joe Biden from the ticket.

They will run as Sambo, Rambo and Bimbo, without Dumbo.

Another irony for y'all to ponder ...

The other night on the news is a story about the Syrian Civil War.

There's a reporter embedded with the rebels, and the anchor introduces the story with a line about "the brave people of Syria taking up arms to battle an oppressive government".

All the civillians are carrying AK-47 rifles with 30 round mags.

Next story: some commentator and a politician gassing off about how "civillians in this country have no need for assault rifles and hi-cap magazines".

Now if it's OK over there ...
