Subdeacon Joe
Sounds great. Do you cut the steak into cubes and dredge in seasoned flour?
Cash Duckett
I cut the steak into small pieces and browned in olive oil and sesoning. This batch turned out really good. Out of fritos, but bugles work well. Cash
Capt. James H. Callahan
Venison chili is THE BEST! Every time I kill a deer I have the backstraps and tenderloins filleted (sp?) whole, get some good steaks to chicken fry, and have the rest ground into chili meat. Love it! Cash Duckett
It's chili with beans. Way more meat than beans. More cubes of deer steak than beans.
Jacknife
Ya ain't got nuthin in there for grease. Ya gotta have grease floating on top of the chili or it ain't worth throwin away. Throw a couple pounds of hog fat in there and ya be in bidness then.
Anvil Al #59168
Was sounding OK. Until ya got to the Rotel and the Beans. Then ya lost me. Could live with the Rotel. But ya lost me with the beans. Wheres the onions and Cumin?? I like to cut some of the Ketchup and throw in some tomato paste instead. P.S. Putting beans in chili will get ya shot in some parts of Texas. Just kidding with ya. Sure it pretty good that way ya got it. Billy Boots gave me some Elk meat awhile back. Made some chili with it also. It was great.
