Granny Annie SASS #37063 Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 We're camped at The Livery in Tombstone and something froze in the trailer last night so no water. Keeping our fingers crossed that we haven't broken something major.
Blaze Kinkaid, SASS #253 Life/Reg Posted February 3, 2011 Author Posted February 3, 2011 Brimstone, are you by chance Malapie(sp) Mike's grandson?? If so I am glad to see you are shooting and guess the football career is over? I see Mike ever so often at a match and he seems to be doing okay. Stay well, Blaze

And that jerk got a Nobel Peace Prize for his Global Warming!!!!! I'm down the road a piece and this RV is not made for -8 wind chill, went through a 30 lbs tank in just over 24 hours. Tomorrow can't come fast enough should be in the 50's, Sat 60, Sun 70. Guess we need to look on the bright side at least the sky is clear and the sun is out, beats 18in of snow they have back home.
Mad Dog Jack, SASS #77862 Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Wow, and I thought it was cold last year when I was there in Feb, it snowed just a bit one day. Not sure my RV heater could keep up with those kind of temps, hope it warms up a bunch for WR
SASS# 23321 Canelo Kid Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Cold as it is Blaze, is Ms. Charmin' letting the deer in the house for the night? Safe trails, CKid

Granny Annie SASS #37063 Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 I'm down the road a piece and this RV is not made for -8 wind chill, went through a 30 lbs tank in just over 24 hours. So where are you parked? We also drained a 30 gal tank of propane. We've got the kitchen and bathroom thawed out and antifreeze in the lines but the fresh tank is in questionable shape. Guess we'll assess the damages tomorrow. For tonight, a bunch of us camped at the Livery are going to the Depot for supper. I'm thinking margaritas!!!!!!!! Come on over and join us for supper if you get this.
Wolfgang, SASS #53480 Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Traveling in really cold weather I've found that rather than trying to keep everything warm . . at night I just keep ME warm. I fill my little generator ( 1/2 gal. ) before bedtime, . . . . and turn the electric blanket on high. Go to bed. With nothing else electic going the generator will run the electic blanket for about 6 hours. I eleminated all water lines when I rebuilt the "rolling bunhouse" and so the only water to freeze is the gallon water bottles. There have been times that the water bottles are all frozen solid and I have to buy a gallon of water in truckstop so that I can make morning coffee ! A simple system that works good for me.
Go West Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 It's cold up here, but I'm hoping it warms up some before we come down next week. Grannie Annie, glad you could come down again.
