Badger, maybe we could start a Gladiator's Action Society, where we pretend to be like we do with our matches. We could have short-stroked maces, polished spears and maybe even chariots with the anti-backup pawls removed. This could be huge....

Actually, it's a quote from Taylor Caldwell's "Pillar of Iron", her 1965 novel about Cicero; it's fiction.

 

However, it's useful to note that something must have turned out right, because Rome had several more centuries to go after Cicero was chopped.

For some reason I knew some one would have some other info on this, but I like what was suppose to have been said, even if it wasn't Cicero.
