Shooting Bull Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 The missus just bought herself a Bond and would like to put a lighter mainspring in it to ease cocking. I've checked Brownell's and Wolff but can't find them. Anybody got a line on where to get lighter mainsprings for a Bond Arms Cowboy Special?

RLMartin Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 When I bought mine about 3 years ago I called and asked for a lighter mainspring. They sent it at no charge and the guy I spoke with even told me how to make the tool needed to change it out using a wide flat blade screwdriver. You need one with a blade wide enough to cut a notch in to fit around the strut the spring is around. I used an extra old Craftsman stubby I had lying around. It still requires a little effort to cock, but much better than the stock spring.
