Sad to read this. I've shot with him many times and he was a true competitor and a good guy. This is a story that seems to be playing out more and more now days. Goodbye Pard. Snakebite

I think this was my 6th trip to EOT. I'm the Good Lookin guy in the 1st photo. How many ol-pards do you see here. Many of them have moved on, but there are still some of us that play the game regularly.

TNX M&M. When I put the 650 back together I'll make sure I get that right. I reset up the new 750, and this time I put a case in the primer position. I also left in the Redding sizing die. Just zoomed through loading a couple hundred cases and not a hitch. Fingers crossed. Snakebite

I'm also going to go back and do as the video says..... This may all be my fault since I did NOT have a case in the Priming station as the video says to do. HOWEVER... I must admit, the Reding dies seems to have covered up the problem. As for the 650, Charlie is right.... I about Crapped my pants when they went off. My guess is that my Primer adjustment was out of tolerance. I had notice lately that I was getting an occasional primer seated in at a 90 degree.... just smashed into the primer pocket. I think they were catching on the side of the pocket and turning sideways because the case was not centered.... When the replacement comes in that will be something that I will for sure check. Thanks to all of you for your input. It has been very helpful. Snakebite

Yes, indeed when it happens it sure brings things to a quick halt. I tried something that seems to be working..... as least like I said... It SEEMS to be working. I changed out my Dillion sizing die for a Redding sizing die. The Redding has a wider mouth that appears to allow for the shell that is not fully seated to get started into the die, and just moves it on into the shell plate. I'll see how well that works, but I just ran a bunch through at a quick pace and none of them failed to go into the sizing die. Snakebite

Yeah, that's what I thought too, so I marked the slot when it happened, and found that it is not slot specific. I'll go back and readjust it again, as per their video... but I've done that a couple of times. Maybe I'll pull the shell plate off my 650 and try it. Thanks for your input pard.

Howdy. My old XL 650 blew up a full tube of primers, so while I'm waiting for a replacement Primer setup I decided to pull the trigger and order a new Dillon XL 750. I know I'm not the sharpest pencil in the box but I've been adjusting my 650 successfully for over 25 years. Now I've run into a problem that I have not been able to correct. About 1 out of 5 cases does not fully inter the shell plate, it will lag a bit and when you pull the lever it hits on the edge of the Dillion sizing die. I can push it in a tad with my finger and it moves fully into the shell plate and enters the die just fine. It is not any one particular spot on the shell plate, but can happen on any of them. The Slide is moving the case in as far as it can go....it hits against the platform assembly. I've sent a request for help and photos to Dillion. They may respond with the answer, but in the mean time I thought that I would ask here in case someone else has already dealt with this problem.... I'd like to get some loading done. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Posting on any site is tough to regulate, control and moderate. Many times you will see comments made that would never be said in a face to face conversation. When you go to a club's site read their rules and follow them. -
Timmy, how do you load the 22 RF with BP?

I understand, I just don't agree with allowing anybody to post anything at anytime. It would be easy to add a place where "outside" questions could be screened before being put directly on the wire. IMO many problems have brought to wire by outside people just wanting to stir things up. Every open forum that I have seen ends up with interlopers causing problems. -

Since Day one, I have been an advocate of allowing only current SASS members the ability to post on the SASS forum. THAT is the only way to control things. Any member that refuses to comply should be banned from access. People sometime get confused into thinking that Freedom of speech applies to private forums, FB or such. IT DOES NOT! -
Geeze! Were you shooting the Jr. Category?

Yes Pard, it was good to remember old times and some of the best stages I ever stole!
