Would you have thought of this, and would it help?
Cypress Sun replied to Alpo's topic in SASS Wire Saloon
It might but there's no telling what part of the door being pried open a spark could come from, not to mention that the sleeping bag would probably end up dipped into the gasoline and could make the situation even worse. I read this comic daily and (although it's just a comic and Michael is a journalist) I was quite surprised that Michael was such an asshat for taking pictures of the accident rescue instead of helping with the rescue. I completely disagree with it, but I know that's what many people do these days. I'm somewhat surprised by the topic because this comic is in reruns and was probably written 20 years ago, or so, before it was popular to do so like it is today. -
This ^^^ If she did call the cops, he would never be legally holding a firearm again after becoming a felon.

Happy 50th anniversary to 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail'
Cypress Sun replied to Sedalia Dave's topic in SASS Wire Saloon
Well, you have to know these things when you're a King you know. -
Black Sabbath - Sweet Leaf....loud as it can go without blowing the speakers out! If that doesn't work, I might suggest....The Cranberries - Zombie (although I like that song), Dolly Parton - Jolene or Ted Nugent - Cat Scratch Fever (like that one also). If they still persist after that, it's time to bring out It's a Small World After All...although that one is likely to get the cops called on you...and they're not going to be nice about it.

I haven't thought about Bloodrock in 50 years! My younger brother played that Bloodrock song, DOA, for weeks after he bought the album.

I used to have a elderly neighbor that lived behind me and down one house. During the fall and spring when the weather was nice, I'd have the windows open and could hear her singing various songs....boy, she was horrible, but I sure wouldn't have called the cops on her. One spring, I didn't hear her singing at all. When I went down her street after a few weeks of not singing, I saw a For Sale sign in front of her house so I called the number on the sign, she had passed away. I still think of her when the weather is nice and we open the windows....and I miss her singing.

Happy 50th anniversary to 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail'

But it's not dead yet! One of the funniest movies of all time and one of my favorites. -
I've watch chain racing with two cars and three cars. I've watch trailer racing also. I'll watch both of those types of racing and more. I've seen both types of races that were better than that snoozer of a race at Talladega yesterday.

Chattanooga is a National Park City
Cypress Sun replied to Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984's topic in SASS Wire Saloon
I always like the Chattanooga area, especially during the mid/late 80's. Had a bunch of fun there on Lookout where the old, burned down mansion used to be overlooking the city. -
HELL NO. I'll refrain from any other comments.

I'd love to win that lottery! When I was a kid, lightning bugs used to be everywhere starting in spring all the way through summer. Haven't seen one around my house in many years. I can't imagine how many kids have rubbed lightning bug guts on themselves...I know I did.

1873 OOB discharge at club match today
Cypress Sun replied to Nostrum Damus SASS #110702's topic in SASS Wire
As Larson alluded to, there is a spring to retracts the firing pin and keeps it retracted. Slapping the lever creates enough inertia to overcome the spring. Cypress Sam had an OBD much as described in the OP. He even did testing to prove that OBD was possible, in fact, not just possible, but highly likely to happen. That video is somewhere on YouTube also. Sam had powder burns on his face, holes in his hat and a piece of brass went clean through his ear which created a bloody mess. Yes, it was a match DQ. Sam's OBD -
I couldn't listen to it for more than 9 seconds, I can't imagine listening to them rehearse their lines. I still feel sorry for the neighbors when I was learning the trumpet, we didn't run the AC. Even though they're all dead by now, they probably still hate Col. Bogie.

I received one that was sort of like that but without the snap-in rod holders. IMO, the snap in rod holders end up bending the rods somewhat through both user negligence and poor design. By poor design I mean they hold the rods too tightly, doesn't take much to bend a rod when they have to clean a .22 barrel.

Actually, you're the winner! I got to 9 seconds.

As you know, shipping these days is outrageous. Buy more of the product to save money...that's why people pay a membership fee to Sam's Club, Costco, BJ's and other "membership" clubs. The merchandise is always packaged in large quantities and sold at a discounted price over other retailers. Buy in bulk, save money...nothing new.

This ^^^^ I've noticed the price difference , higher at the manufacturer than the retailer, with Berry's and other manufactures also, like RCBS or Hodgdon for instance. The probable reason for the price difference is most likely in labor and the fact that they want you to buy from the retailer and the higher price is actually a deterrent. The labor required to ship a couple of boxes of bullets only slightly less than loading 200 boxes of bullets on a pallet and waiting for the semi to arrive to ship therefore smaller sales make the profit level much smaller. The retailer gets a break on price and even with the retailer markup it is still cheaper than buying it direct. The retailer also figures that you'll purchase other items also and I'm reasonably sure that many retailers also mark up shipping prices The manufacture gives the retailer a price break to order in bulk because the labor involved less which makes the profit level higher. Right or wrong, that's my theory. If I were the manufacture, I would concentrate on the retailer, not the individual consumer.

Alliant Powder made an announcement last fall (2024) that they were suspending retail powder shipments until further notice. So far, there's been no further notice and there doesn't appear any shipments anytime soon. If you really want Bullseye powder, it is available on Gunbroker @ $350 for an 8 lb jug + $38 shipping and probably + HazMat.

What.... The guy didn't have a dog?

During the Burger King rotisserie days, I liked the double cheeseburger. Biff Burger had the same type rotisserie type cooked burgers. When I was an pre-teen and then teenager, Biff Burger was the place I'd go for the treat of a double cheeseburger...two or three if I had the money. The last Biff Burger around here, probably in the entire country, closed a few years ago. I miss that place. Burger King sucks these days, rather go to Culver's.

I thought the purpose of the best man was to get the groom to the ceremony on time and somewhat sober.

I remember the rings, hamburger in the white paper, cheeseburger in the yellow paper. I think the hamburger was 15 cents and cheeseburger was 25 cents but I could be wrong on the prices. Back then, they actually tasted good. It was a big treat then to go to the McDonalds on Gulf to Bay Blvd (Hwy 60) in Clearwater, Fl., directly across from Frisch's Big Boy. There is still a McD's there at the same location but it's not the original one, of course. The Frisch's got torn down 30 years ago or so and the property has surprisingly remained vacant since.
