When I first started shooting CAS, we used to use derringers to start the stage, off the clock. Since most people are unfamiliar with derringers we stopped doing it. It was a safety concern that someone could extend their finger past the muzzle and shoot their finger.

Does anyone use the bluetooth hearing protection? I see several brands and I'm interested in them. Do they really work? If you use them, which ones do you like? I don't want any with the cords/wires.

I got 1000 Large rifle when I couldn't find anything else. They go bang BUT they are very hard to seat. I broke one of my Lee bench primers trying to seat them. They were also very hard to seat using a single stage press. I would never buy them again.

I've been loading my .38s with 11gr ( by weight) APP 3F for years without any filler with no problems. I use the same load for both 105gr (pistols) and 158gr (rifle). Works great for me, I don't have to adjust the powder charge when switching between loading rifle and pistol.
