i think most national anthems are based on survival in war , ours is , i dont see a problem in that , personally i dont see a problem in much of the past , im finding bigger problems in what the revisionists are trying to do to our past ,

What?! Their anthem isn’t about puppy dogs and inclusivity? I am appalled! Appalled, I tell you! :lol:

If it weren’t for the French we would not be the United States of America. We would be subjects of the crown. God bless the French.

Yep.  The original French of O Canada has, or had,both martial and decidedly Christian overtones "

O Canada!

Land of our ancestors

Glorious deeds circle your brow

For your arm knows how to wield the sword

Your arm knows how to carry the cross;

Your history is an epic

Of brilliant deeds

And your valour steeped in faith

𝄆 Will protect our homes and our rights. 𝄇

But not many talk about using the blood of your enemies to water your crops.

I believe the French anthem is talking about fighting the Germans. They were doing that long before 1914.

The lyrics were written in 1792.  The French weren't fighting any country in that year however Le Revolution ran from started in 1789-1799.  In 1793 France declard war on England.

According to wiki

La Marseillaise"[a] is the national anthem of France. The song was written in 1792 by Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle in Strasbourg after the declaration of war by France against Austria, and was originally titled "Chant de guerre pour l'Armée du Rhin"[b] ("War Song for the Army of the Rhine").
