Texas Red
When SKB's are tuned for Cowboy, How is the enertia trigger system converted to mechanical?? Is a Mechanical trigger part added?? If so what's a part # and source for those?? Regards Texas Red
Wild Eagle
They just add a small piece of wire, placed in the right place of course. If the wire moves or breaks, it just reverts to a inertia reset. When I got my first SKB, modified by Fast Eddie, it did not have a mechanical trigger. No big deal, it still worked fine. First time I took it apart I found that the wire had moved. It probably moved during shipping from the guy I bought it from. Moved the wire back, and I then had a mechanical trigger.
Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
There is no factory part these are gunsmith conversions. I have one done by Johnny Meadows and it has a part welded on the inside.
Reverend P. Babcock Chase
I don't know about SKB's but I tune my Stratocaster starting on the low E string. Rev. Chase
Hoss
I have 2. One was done by Shotgun Boogie. It has the stiff wire. The other was done by unknown Smith. It’s pretty ugly. Looks like he split the spring and bent to over. Works tho. But the wire mod is more “elegant”.
