Alpo
I am watching the serial Superman, from 1948. When Jonathan and Martha find the rocket ship with the baby in it, they're driving what I believe is a Model T pickup truck. Since the series was made in 48, and Clark would probably be about 25 to go off to the big city and get a job as a reporter, then this should be about 1923. Now when he looks to be about 15 or 16 there's a tornado coming and he has to go run and tell Jonathan it's coming. They have a new car now. At least they have another car. That's the one I want identified.

Blackwater 53393
It IS a Ford sedan, but it’s NOT A ‘41! It’s either a ‘39 or ‘40. The grills and fenders were very similar between the two with the deluxe being a bit more ornate. The fenders on a ‘41 are less laid back and the headlights are vertical as opposed to the slant of the ‘39/‘40. The grille treatment on the ‘41 goes across the front of the car from under one headlight to the other. That one is a ‘40. It has vent windows in the front doors and the windshield wipers are mounted on the cowl. The ‘39 doesn’t have vent windows and the wipers swing from above the windshield. Alpo
So if it's a 1940, it could be 1939 - new cars come out in the fall, and Clark is wearing a flannel shirt while Jonathan is wearing a jacket. Basing the time frame on when the serial was made, and the apparent age of characters, if it was '23 when they found the boy, and he looks to be about 16 in that scene, then it would be '39 so he could have a brand new 1940. '39 would be a little bit early for a 1941.
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
Did new cars always come out in the fall of the previous year?
Blackwater 53393
The roadster pickup in the first picture is NOT a Model T! It appears to be a Model A. Those were made from 1928 to 1931. But it’s the movies, so accuracy was/is NOT a priority!! The gas cap on the cowl gives it away. Model T gas tanks were under the seat as opposed to the tank in the cowl on the Model As.
