The text of the bill removes EVERY category of "Duly Authorized Instructor," not just NRA certified Pistol Instructors, from NYS PEN 265.00 (19) and replaces us with ONLY Dept of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) certified pistol instructors after 2026. Think how much more difficult it will be to obtain your pistol permit then....Only here in the State of Despair... SB 1 Quote Link to comment

Blackwater 53393
By doing this, they decrease the number of recognized, qualified instructors, making it more difficult to find and receive the training that the state requires for obtaining a carry permit! Keeping one or another of the avenues blocked gives them the excuse that “the system is overwhelmed”! All part of the delay and deny tactics that they love to employ! 2 Quote Link to comment
