Confiscation funding? Illinois

Recommended Posts

Bet they've been collecting records on who has been buying ammo and accessories for modern sporting rifles.

Getting ready to start knocking on doors and going after those that didn't comply with their unconstitutional gun registration.

How would they do that?   There are no records for buying ammunition.  You can just pay cash for it and leave with it.

True.

But this administration has 99% non-compliance with their AWB. Might be a way to save some dignity.

Or they let it leak out on purpose just to mess with gun owners.

They barely have enough cops for basic service calls. Staffing a squad like this would be a neat trick.

Gonna be hard to get volunteers for such a squad... I pray it is impossible.

I'm praying there were boating accidents and lots of guns got moved out of state to vacation homes. Also praying the state waits to find out if their ban (or registration requirement) is constitutional before trying to enforce it.

Finally, the funding is to reduce crime. I'm praying officers know the difference between some criminal with a gun and the criminalization of otherwise law-abiding citizens.

The tragedy will come when they try to confiscate an otherwise legally owned firearm and the owner refuses to turn it over and fights back.  Law Enforcement and the gun owner may be killed.  Then the civil suits will begin and it could get real expensive for the state of Illinois.

If an officer is killed trying to enforce a law that is eventually ruled unconstitutional, could the citizen be found guilty of murder for resisting an illegal seizure and a violation of his 2nd Amendment rights?   Lots of disasters waiting to happen and unfortunately, the idiot politicians who passed this law won't be the one's suffering the consequences.
