Looking for Colt SAA 3rd Gen Black Powder Frame Cylinder Screw

Tom,

Scarcer than hen's teeth.  I don't know if you checked, but I would call Colt first.  I looked at different web sites, but no one seems to have that screw.  I guess it would have to be machined.  A couple of folks have sent work to Bill Fuchs at Spring Creek Armory and have been very satisfied with his work.  His phone number is 307 431 9194.  I'll keep looking, but if you find one let me know as I have a black powder frame Colt and I could use an extra.

Bill Fuchs replaced one on my first generation that was all bunged up. But I'm sure he just rethreaded it to a standard thread and used a standard Colt screw.  It was was an economy project.  Bill has parts and sources. Third generation should be more likely to find.

This was the screw that was replaced.

There MAYBE a small chance a Uberti or Pietta screw may fit a third generation - if you could get one of them.  I think Bill said first generation screws were some funky old English thread used before metric standard.

Back at you, Tom.

I have a lead.  I'll get back to you as soon as they call me back.  No use in both of us leaving messages.

OK  Thanks

Here is a first generation black powder frame base pin screw. I don't think they are the same for 3rd.  But seller had lots of Colt parts listed.

Tom check the thread size, difference between 1st and 3rd gens. FYI, S&S Firearms in New York has 1st gen screw and pin.

Happy New Year!! Hawkeye the one I bought is for a 3rd gen gun. They had them made special. It is a better design then the threads all the way down the screw. The new cylinder pin also accommodates the new type screw. I'll let ya know!!
