I wonder what happened to the German Pilot when he reported back to his unit.

Captivity would have sucked. Still, I wouldn’t want to be him when he got back.

German POWs were kept in the gulags until about 55 after Stalin died, as were Japanese captured in Manchuria, technically they were internees since they were rounded up after the war was over.

IF hr got back home he couldn't survive laughter and rude comments.  He may have shot himself.
