Trigger Mike
Both have a 3 inch barrel. Has anyone fired both for comparison? I’m familiar with the colt. Very little recoil even with 230 grain ammo. I often prefer 185 grain hollow point though , probably because my first police chief , a Vietnam vet and competitive shooter preferred it. the colt is accurate but I wonder if the pro series is more accurate. DocWard
I've handled the Colt, fired neither. Interesting to know the thoughts of those who have.
DeaconKC
I've handled both, have not shot the Defender, but have gotten to shoot several of the S&W 1911s. All were very accurate and 100% reliable.
LawMan Mark, SASS #57095L
I have a Defender...actually, a Night Defender. It's a limited edition from TALO. Shoots great, prefers 185 grain JHP (I have several boxes of Black Hills 185 laid back for it). I do have the E series S&W 1911 in a commander length. It's a great pistol. I can't speak on the 3" S&W 1911.
Trigger Mike
I’ve found the defender the size less likely to make my pants fall down then stumbled on the pro series on line and got curious

Trigger Mike
I looked up les Baer but they are over 2000 each. Goodness. Hopefully I can shoot a 45 again soon and after paying for my surgery have enough to buy a pro series and compare
