Red Gauntlet , SASS 60619 Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Dies at 78: Sal Bando dies (mlb.com) Man, I will never forget those great years in the early '70s when the A's burst upon the scene. Rollie Fingers, Reggie Jackson, Catfish Hunter, Vida Blue, Sal Bando and the rest. Best MLB seasons ever, in my own personal world. Going up against the NL greats especially, Reds and Pirates.
Rye Miles #13621 Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 RIP Sal, thanks for the memories. He was a Cleveland native and his brother Chris played for the Indians. Sal was a solid player.
Pay Dirt Norvelle #90056 Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 I remember the As wining those consecutive World Series. They were great years.
Rattlesnake Slim Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Monday night home games at the Oakland Coliseum were Family Night, $5.00 for the whole family. We drove from Sacramento many times in the '64 Studebaker station wagon.
