Check your state laws. In most it is perfectly fine. The FFL can receive it from you and send it directly back to you (if going forward repairs or mods). Also, if you’re shipping to a manufacturer see if they will pay shipping both ways and you reimburse them. I am pretty sure Ruger’s fee is $30 where me shipping UPS would have been $75.
