Tequila Vaquero #4624 Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 My remaining antique rifle is a .32-40. It has always had an oversized (.323) bore and I would like to have it rebarreled to the .321 specification. Who might be able to do this correctly??
Garrison Joe, SASS #60708 Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 If your TITLE is correct and you want the barrel relined: Perhaps Randy Redman's in Oregon. You'll have to call him, as 32-40 is not a liner that he lists on his web page. https://redmansrifling.com/gun-barrel-relining/ Or Run-n-Iron in Nebraska. http://www.runniron.com/index_cowboy.html Wayne York: http://www.oregunsmithingllc.com/Reboring-Relining-MuzzleBrake.html This feller I have not heard reports about: Larry Romano http://www.romanorifle.com/22601.html If you want a new complete lever-action barrel installed (like your text hints), then lots of gunsmiths can do a great job of it, but it depends upon what make and model you are talking about. Run-n-iron or York among these would be who I would call first. Run-n-Iron does a lot of restorations so they know their way around protecting a valuable antique gun. Good luck, GJ
Willy B.SASS#26902 Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 Good Day Mr. Vaquero Hi Gerry, Try http://www.johntaylormachine.com, Their located up in Washington, They did my 38/55 Marlin and I believe Cognac Jack's Henry, Not cheap but they did good work. I had Randy Redman reline my .30 Mauser broomhandle and my 25/20 Winchester 92 both were very well done but I don't think he does 32/40's. If you have questions give me a call. Talk to you later.

John Boy Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Quote I would like to have it rebarreled to the .321 specification. It has always had an oversized (.323) bore I don't understand why you want the bore relined to 321 because the the original Ballard 32-40 bore has always been 0.323 Call TJ Enterprises to see if he will cut a liner to 321
largo casey #19191 Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 I am checking with "winchesterbarrels.com." for a barrel for my 76.It was somewhat less expensive than relining. Largo
Gunner, SASS #1940 Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 https://www.newfrontierarmory.com/location/rittenhouse-custom-gunsmithing/ Craig Rittenhouse is one of the best period, if not the best in the mid-Atlantic.
