Alpo
If you make a bid at an auction, then you die, and your bid is determined to be the winning bid (proxy bid at an online. heart attack when the auctioneer says SOLD ) does your estate have to pay for the widget? That was part of one of last night's dreams. If, for whatever reason, the high bidder does not pay for the item, does it go to the next higher bidder, or do they reauction it? Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
I seem to recall that the item was offered to the high loser for the winning bid, which was more than the high loser had offered of course. After high loser refused, it reentered the auction and was sold to the aforesaid high loser for significantly less than the previous “winning bid”, a natural occurrence since the previous “winner” was not in the auction. but maybe I dreamed it. Utah Bob #35998
NO. They can try to sue the estate but good luck with that.
