Movie Premiere

Painted Ladies Aunt is a big time Hollywood movie producer; and her latest movie is being premiered tonight in Las Vegas at the Palms.

It is a new western called The Lonesome Road.

So knowing we play cowboy and are local; we were invited to the premiere event.

I checked out the IDMB for it and seems to be a unknown (to me) cast.

I'm hoping it will be a great ride and usher in some more Hollywood westerns.

If not; it's still a free night at the movies  and with any luck, I won't get too much popcorn butter on my vest.

Well...

I'm an idiot.

I misunderstood what exactly Painted Lady and I got invited to.

Her Aunt's movie is being premiered within a multi night awards program that is presenting a number of critically nominated and award winning films.

So every night is a different movie and presentation of it's awards.

We don't know which film is being presented until it is announced.  I'm not sure I have the patience to sit thru multi nights of unknown films to actually see hers.

I'll let everyone know if we get there.

How bad was the first movie?

We skipped the first movie when it was announced and ended up chatting with her Aunt instead.

Creeker, popcorn butter on the vest adds to its character.  :)

Does not even the producer aunt know what night it will be shown?

Surprisingly, no.

Apparently this is how these awards showings go.

They are on the critics and judges schedule - no one else's.

Her Aunt has been in town from San Francisco for  a week waiting.

Our best information said we were going back tonight (Friday) and sadly; last minute, they adjusted her premiere to last night.

By the time we were notified; we were unable to make the showing...

So Painted Lady and I missed it.

Apparently it was well received and her Aunt expects some industry awards.

I also discovered that is was guided to be a family friendly production; so I was told not to expect a Tarantino type western.

What that means commercially; I have no idea.
