Chili Ron
Howdy, a friend of mine said the remote controls will suck the last electrons out of aaa batteries. So I was fine with saving a few bucks. I noticed I was having to hit the button two or three times to get a fast forward or anything. So yesterday Im shopping at farm and fleete and see those bunny batteries with 20 years on them. I remember them being 8 or 9 years. 20?????? I loaded up one remote and suddenly one tap did whatever I wanted. I dropped one in the battery tester and it pegged the needle. not just in the green all the way over to max. Im not sure if I ever saw that before. That's that. Catlow4697
CR when my remotes start to need multiple pushes I roll the batteries while they are still in the remote I think the twenty year date code on the new batteries is for shelf life

Pat Riot
That 20 years is for shelf life. Catlow is correct. That is only if the batteries are stored in a controlled environment with a constant cool temperature and low humidity.
Chili Ron
Howdy, The 20 is for shelf life afaik. But 20 in place of 8 seems like something must have changed. The batteries removed were barely in the green. I bought the tester from Radio shack years ago to test recharge batteries. The recharge wasn't working well. I check new cells and find one way down sometimes. Best CR
Chili Ron
Howdy, It is SOOOOO nice having a remote that works every time all the time. And my flashlight looks like it could light cigars. Best CR
Blackwater 53393
I've found that the red Duracel batteries work best and longest. I used to get one show out of the batteries I used in my wireless microphone rigs. Sometimes a show and a half! That's about four hours. I tried every different brand. The expensive Evereadys and the gold Duracels lasted the longest. When the red Duracels came out, I started getting two and often three shows out of a single replacement!! And YES! I tried rechargeables! Most of them wouldn't last a whole show, they wore out quickly, and I'd forget to recharge them between shows! Not worth the money or the hassle!!!
