County Jr
Merry Christmas Folks. My lovely wife got me a Scholfield 45 for Christmas. She even let me got out and shoot it! Felt kinda like Ralphy from Christmas Story. You know the high note before things went bad for him. Things went great for me though. She hits what I aim at. Here is some pics of her before getting cleaned. Would greatly appreciate any advice from fellow Scholfield owners on keeping her running perfect. Blackwater 53393
Pull the grips and make sure the main spring doesn’t bind against the grip frame. It will make cocking the hammer MUCH easier and it increases the life of the spring! Both of mine needed the springs re-arched.

My understanding is black powder and the mordern Scholfield don’t mix well, but would love to shoot a little black powder out of my 1866 & El Patron.
