Red Eye Jim
Why do boxes of Federal Primers need twice the space of any other primers? They're throwing my stores out of wack....
Warden Callaway
I've used Winchester primers for 50 years and occasionally use other brands. I have only used Federal a few times and decidedly don't like their packaging.
Cheatin Charlie
They are more sensitive to detonation so are seperated so if one goes off the whole box does not explode. That is why Lee changed the design of their hand priming tool.
Birdgun Quail, SASS #63663
Red Eye Jim, I was reloading some .45 Colts rounds this just this morning using Federal Large Pistol Primers. And, I was cussing those Federal primer boxes also, except I'm fussing at how difficult it is to get the primers out. The underside of the boxes have these retention tabs that I had to contend with and invariably I'd wind up scattering primers all over the reloading bench. Gr-r-r-r-r-r-r.... I'll finish using these Federals because I have them, but I'll stay with Winchester primers hereafter. Hate the Federal primer packaging, which is bulky and not user friendly. .
