Subdeacon Joe Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Somali pirates overwhelmed by Taiwan fishing boat crew A group of armed pirates initally took control of the boat, but were defeated when the crew fought back. According to Taiwan's Fisheries Agency, three sailors were injured, while the pirates fell into the sea. Their fate is not known. "Fell into the sea" Another take on it. The crew, who had been out of contact with the ship since Friday according to the foreign ministry, forced the six armed Somali pirates to jump overboard, and successfully took back control of the ship. Liu Wan-tien, the owner of the vessel based in the southern Taiwanese city Kaohsiung, said the five Vietnamese sailors launched the surprise assault on the pirates as they were having a meal, the state Central News Agency reported. The pirates were forced to jump into the high sea and were likely picked up by a small boat operated by the same Somali pirates group, it said.

Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 They shoulda chummed the water first. I'd have seen to it the pirates stole more chain than they could swim with.
