Is the North American Arms Ranger 22 Mag. Topbreak revolver available? Lipsey's website has it listed with a msrp of $499.00. What little information I have found states it is or was limited production.

Read an article about them when they first came out. It clearly stated that the first run would be limited and the price would be high....in excess of $500. I have been watching magazines closely for additional articles as I am interested....when the price goes down. I sure as heck could have missed someting, but I have not read that the product was taken out of production, and I would be interested in hearing something definitive about them. I just checked NAA website and do not find it, however, I did find a dealer selling it for under $500. I still want one.

If you can lay hands on one for that amount best do it. They will never be cheaper. The very few that were made are all that there will ever be. NAA has decided against furthur production.

Do you know the WHY of this?

I'd be happy to help

It has been out of production for quite sometime now, sold out nearly as soon as it was released.Very few were made.

My very reliable sources tell me there will not be another run of them.

Hope this helps.

THX, SS

Was that their plan to start with?

According to sources that are normally 100% reliable, it was originally conceived to be a new addition to NAA's lineup, but quickly became an unintended very limited edition piece..probably because the cost of production for NAA demanded too high an MSRP and too low of a GP,inconsistent with NAA's other revolvers..This type of gun was not NAA's forte'.

The concept was good. If they have suspended production there must have been a problem. If that is the case why would anyone want one?

I don't think there was a problem with the GUN. I think there was a problem because in the end, the design prohibited them from making money at it. When yer losing money, there's only so much "making it up in volume" you can do :)

Thanks for the update S.S. $500.00 is a quite a chunk of change for a little gun but then it is a rather unique piece.
