Delta was not a shooter, but she loved the cowboys of SASS and took many, many photographs and gave them to the ones photographed. She traveled around the country doing this and made many friends and at the same time told people about Jesus. Charlette loved John Wayne,and Robert Duvall was her idol. She had purchased tickets to see Robert Duvall's open house of western movies this Fall. She talked about it a lot and was very excited about going. Delta thought Gus McCray was the epitomy of the western cowboy. Delta did not get to met Robert Duvall before she left..... But then steps up our Hero, Ranger Star. With much difficulties, Ranger gets thru to Robert Duvall and was able to talk to him by phone and explain what happen to Charlette and how much her pending trip ment to her. At Detla's wake, and to everyone's surprise, Ranger Star presents Delta's family with an autographed, framed picture of "Gus McCray" signed by Robert Duvall and a letter of authenticity. Lst Sat. at our shoot in Lake Charles I was asked to give a short talk in Honor of DELTA DOVE .... "She was a true friend of the cowboys/cowgirls".
