pony racer # 39210
SPF I am posting this for my gunsmith who works in a shop out of Zuni, Va (near Surry or Smithfield VA) WTS 1876 original winchester rifle roughly 1890's vintage 22-24 inch rifle (he has not measured it) with half tube. Has new hammer spring (kept the orig will come with rifle). Defintiely replacement wood and the lever lock is missing. The gun has an overall brown patina and the gun was most likely shortened some time ago but done professionally. Gun is definitely a shooter with a very good bore and great overall mechanical condition. He will send me pics if there is interest. $1,000.00 - YES AN ORIGINAL 1876 45-60 Winchester rifle in shooting condition $1,000.00 PR SPF

Oklahoma Dee
Sounds alot like the one I have. Someone called it the UTAH Special, meaning that they cut the long barrel down to be lighter. Seems like a pretty awesome gun for the price. Unless the bore is 72 miles of highway construction! Even then, getting a reline on the barrel, and blam! You have an extremely accurate shooter for less than 1400. How much is it? Lookin at all the pictures versus my rifle, this is a heck of a deal. Someone is gonna be happy. Any one got the money, though.... OKD

pony racer # 39210
Wolfgang on the east coast this is a great gun for the price. I rarely see any 1876 for 1,000.00 even if it is a beater/wallhanger. This is NOT even close to a beater/wallhanger and has a very good bore and is a great shooter grade gun. Maybe out west you see more of these 1876's for this kind of money but not here in VA. BTT PR
pony racer # 39210
BTT - I will know tomorrow if my friend will take VISA/MC However, the price will at probably go up by some percentage due to the costs of processing the payment.
