Subdeacon Joe Posted June 25, 2011 Author Posted June 25, 2011 Very cool Joe. You find the most interesting things to post here. Thank you. My pleasure, sir. I figure that there are enough history buffs here that some of the things that interest me might be of interest to others. And my momma taught me to share.
Subdeacon Joe Posted June 25, 2011 Author Posted June 25, 2011 Did any of you keep saying "Don't slip. Don't break!" over and over as you watched?
Andrew Quigley SASS #32802 Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Thanks for the update. Read the story on the recovery in Wreck Diver magazine and saw it on the History Channel too, if memory serves me right.
Abilene Slim SASS 81783 Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Regrettably, it sank separately 3 times with the loss of all hands each time. Fascinating recovery of the remains.
Four-Eyed Buck,SASS #14795 Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 I noticed they took some plates off to facilitate excavation of the interior. I used to have their site bookmarked, but a change in computers lost it for me. Can someone give me the URL again? Wonder what all in the way of artifacts they've found, after the crew was removed
Sergeant Smokepole #29248L Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Truly, a shrine to the brave souls that gave their lives defending their Country. They kept The faith.
