Name Challenge

Another thread got me wondering. If you wanted to name a fictional character with an everyday "normal" name, and were also of a sensitive nature that didn't want to offend anyone who ever new a real person by that name, could you come up with one? I thought a minute and made up a name I had never heard of - "Bartholomew Jones". I just Googled it and came up with over 7 million hits. So here's the challenge:

Invent a name.

Google it.

First name that returns fewer than 500,000 hits wins.

Only 1 rule (so far, but I am sure some devious minds will induce some additions): The name cannot be so over the top as to be unbelievable .

Here ya go.

Abagail Snuffbucket

Abagail is normal or common.

Went to school with a kid with last name Snuffbucket.

Google Search brings up 7 and none related.

gabby winklestein - 505 results, first try.

Grizz, no fair using the "Easy Button". That was too quick. I either made the rules too easy or Grizz is a whiz. We have a winner, folks.

That is a more than honorable 2nd place. Only missed first place by a post.

Most unusual name I ever came across - while working as a drug store courier in college, had a customer named - Human Klump! Always wondered what the story was behind that name.

Bucky, ask my family or close friends, google and I are tight. I seem to have a knock of finding things when others come up empty.

Tried a name that I made up years ago and can find the first and last name but not together. Grezilda Ekendorf. Now Abigale Snufflebucket that's funny I don't care who you are!!

a hint I often forget is to put quotes around your search string

plain old Grizzly Dave products lots of results

but "Grizzly Dave" comes up with far fewer weeding out pages that have both words, but not together.

Hi guys. Mind if I come in an sit a spell?

Names: Quasi realistic? Gertie Mae Weinstein, no hits at all.

However, I have a sense of humor about me, so I think up other, more descriptive names:

Gretta Guff, none

Colonel Bark, 508

Officer Steel, 38,200

Abby Crabbe, 31

John Smith, 14,000,000

Hilly Whimsy, none

de Jarno "Grill" Hammeister, the third, earl of Ground Beef, Sussex. None

Mildred Stearns (school marm), 1,000

Sheriff Hardass, 9

There's a start. Hope they didn't put you to sleep.

Does it count if the name you create only comes up with hits related to you creating it?

I Googled a character from my books, Cherokee John Diamond. John Diamond (Without the nickname in front) has over 7,000,000 hits, but Cherokee John Diamond had fewer, and was the second entry listed with a reference to Cavanaugh: The Last Bounty, my second book. The first also didn't have "Cherokee" in front of it.

I don't win, but I got major bragging rights.

0 hits on Samantha Fatherlos. That is my real last name, seriously. Just added a first name that has never been used in the family.
