Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
Wondering if anybody has pillar bed a rifle and what were the results. I got this wild hair to do it with a bolt action. Any words of wisdom that one wishes to share?

Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
I just knew youse guys would step up to the plate. I did not know you'll would hit a home run. In spite of you'll and your suggestive notations, I did indeed learn something from you. Never ask a serious question in the SALOON! Drinks on me, Barkeep. Chickasaw Bill SASS #70001
BMC STEP AWAY from the workbench , Ya is gonna hurt yourself . On a serious note make sure the stock and action are squre to each other before you drill the piller holes . Most of what I have seen done piller beeding is not much better than glass/ epoxey bedding . The pillers only contact the action , it does not stabalize the bbl channel . Most of the acc. gain is from proper bebbing of the back of the action and the recoial lug , IMO CB
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
Thanks CB. You saved me some time. I got the glass bedding done already and I guess that is the end of the story. That part about "STEP AWAY FROM THE BENCH" is probably the best advice.
