Saw a used Colt 1911 Series 80 Government Model at Cabela's today. Appeared to be very lightly used. Asking price was $709.00. Is that at good, average, or not so good price? Just window shopping.

Goody, thats what I paid for a stainless used one I bought for my son, fifteen years ago! If I needed one I would probably go for a good looking one in the $700 range.

Grab it. That's a good price if it's only lightly used.

Just bought a brand new stainless one at a gun show for $760. They had a blued model for $730. I would think used should be at least a $100 less than new.

I work at the Cabelas near Omaha Nebraska. I can tell you that you can deal on a lot of the used guns. Don't know how much but I've seen some impressive discounts. Never buy used at Cabelas without dickering a little bit.

Howdy CG, do they allow potential buyers to inspect the internals on a gun? Or is there a window of a few days where one can return the gun if major problems are found? What concerns me about any used 1911 is the condition of the slide and barrel lugs.
