Padre_Jerico Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 So, around this time last year the missus and I joined SASS. Then our financial situation hit the skids. As of the last two months, things have gotten better. We're ahead of where we were and out from behind the eight ball. We didn't get out and shoot, we just didn't have the means, not for ammo for loaned guns or even gas to get to a match. But as I've said, these things are in the past, and I'm chomping at the bit to play. I've put cash down on a pair of irons, with the rest to come shortly. I can't express how much I'm looking forward to spring and getting into character and into the fun!

Snake River Clay SASS #34984 Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Welcome to the game! You are in a good location with several shoots fairly close. As your situation has improved, mine is worse. I will still get to local matches, but travel to New England may be out this year. You are in good hands up there.

Smithy Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Snake and Padre; Why don't you folk post a couple of items that will get you guys headed in the right direction. It's after Christmas but still close enough that the spirit may move a few pards to help you guys out a bit. You'll never know unless you try. When I was starting out I can't tell you all the help I received in just that manner for similar reasons. So best of luck to you both and I'm so glad to hear that things are turning around for you both. Smithy.

Lou Graham, # 26112 Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Padre, since we live in "little states" in New England, we tromp across state lines all the time to shoot at each others clubs. I hope to see you at a match this spring. You are most welcome to come down to CT. and shoot with us.
