  1. That little oddity has been noted by more than once. And more than a few articles have been written about it. It's also not limited to De Carlo as Lucey also drew them that way. In fact Josie, Midge, Sabrina, Cheryl, Nancy and Valerie are all drawn almost identically. Hair Color/Style and personalities were all that really separated the characters. Even the moms in the strip were only slightly modified versions of the girls. The only female characters that were drawn significantly different were the bad or unpopular ones.

  3. Last night in a town a few miles south of me the cops were called to a disturbance involving two 'fine upstanding citizens" squaring off in the street with chainsaws.
  4. I'd go so far as to say that she is the single most important person in preserving the 2nd amendment. Her work on the historical precedents that led to the right to keep and bear arms being enshrined in the Bill of Rights was crucial to the Heller, McDonald and Bruin cases. Without her research, I doubt the Supreme Court would be upholding our right to self defense.
  5. I distinctly remember the smell of the Green Zinc Chromate when I stood up in the bomb bay of that B-36. It has been several years since I was last there. and as soon as i retire, spending a few days there is high on my bucket list. My last visit it was a slow day and the Docent working that section of the museum and I had a great conversation about the aircraft on display.

  10. From FB One of the comic naval postcards by the French artist Henri Gervèse. “Henri Gervèse” was actually French Naval Lieutenant Charles Millot (1880-1959). He served as Liaison Officer with the British Eastern Mediterranean Fleet during WW1. This included a period with the Dardanelles Squadron based at Mudros, on the Greek island of Lemnos, during the Gallipoli Campaign. His comic observations of British naval life were produced in a series of thirty postcards, with captions in either French or English. The postcard series was titled “Our Sailors” or “Nos Marins.” You can find more pictures here
