  1. Good question but a better one would be: "How many who didn't have an attorney feel that they got a fair deal from the insurance company?" Insurance companies now are in the business of not paying claims or so it seems.
  2. In my experience, just because someone can not speak a language doesn't mean he can't understand a little of it. Or misunderstand some of it. After four days in South Africa I understood when the PH told the tracker to take us to the waterhole. I think I actually understood 3 words and inferred the rest. The m oh re people hear a language the more they understand and they will fill in any gaps in their understanding with what they expect you to say. To answer Alpo's question, it would depend on what I precieved to be in my best interest. ....
  3. Find a realtor who is a buyer's agent! DO NOT let the realtor who is listing the house handle all the paperwork or you WILL be screwed.
  4. Let's get together on the candidates and get enough votes for new board members toelect people who will straighten out this mess.
  5. We can elect a new board of directors, and contracts can be canceled for cause. Do we want to, or just grouse about the situation?
  6. The cable was catching on a bolt. When it was properly routed the door started working again. Thanks to everyone who has helped with this problem. And if it had been a problem with the springe I would have called a professional. Duffield
  7. I can't get it past that stopping point but haven't pushed very hard. It stays there, doesn't spring back.
  8. I had a moment of applied stupidity today. I had removed one track of the garage door to get clearance for another project. I left the opener plugged in, and it got triggered while one side of door was unsupported. I got the door back on its track, but now it will not close all the way. It goes down to about a 16" opening and then reverses. I tried releasing the door to close it manually, but it feels like one of the cables is holding it at the 16" point. Is there some safety device that was set by operating with an unequal load on the springs? Or is it a case of "call a professional you big dummy!" Thanks, Duffield
  9. All gasoline powered vehicles use the same gasoline. I am asking for all evs to use the same battery pack so that any ev can get a new battery at any service facility. Pull in, get your battery exchanged and drive on, just like getting a tank of gas.
  10. At the risk of hijacking this thread, I want toknow why there is not a standard battery pack for ALL evs with a standard connector so that any battery can be used in any ev? And why new batteries are not backward compatible with all older evs? If you need more capacity just add more batteries, it works with power tools and flashlights.
  11. Poodles are too obedient to be guide dogs. If you tell them to cross the street, they will take you in front of the truck that is coming. Labradoodles are still mutts and should sell for about $5.00. but they have caught on with the public and sell for many dollars.
