Warden Callaway Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 There is no free copy of this movie to link but if you can find it, watch it. It's a John Ford western with all his normal cast. But not a John Wayne. Ben Johnson and Harry Carey Jr, Ward Bond, Hank Worden and even James Arness. Music by Sons of the Pioneers.
Tex Jones, SASS 2263 Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Good movie. Supposedly the inspiration for the TV show Wagon Train.
Injun Ryder, SASS #36201L Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 It is available free on the streaming service TUBI.
Alpo Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Dobe and Ben leading a wagon train fulla Mormons, ain't it? Got it in my library, but I've only watched it once and that was like 5 years ago so I'm not real sure.

Warden Callaway Posted July 16, 2024 Author Posted July 16, 2024 If you get a chance to watch it, pay attention to the horse Ben Johnson is riding. It's most often Steel. A well sought after horse owned by Ben Johnson's father-in-law who rented horses for the movies. It was said he wouldn't rent Steel unless they rented all the horses for the movie. Steel even had a stunt double named Bingo. Steel was a big horse with white blaze and three white socks. You'll see him a lot in John Ford westerns. I see him in other westerns too. I'm not a horse fan but enjoy watching Ben Johnson ride Steel. (Or Bingo) https://www.instagram.com/twmag/p/CyMT7L6LFxc/
