We had a VRBO home rented in Edmond, but I was just informed that the Host says the home is no longer available and refunded my payment. So, now we are looking for hotel rooms. Based on personal experience, which hotels would you recommend and which ones should I stay away from? We would like room to be a suite if possible.

but there are several hotels at corner of IH  35 66 & 2nd street. A Laquinta for sure.

There are four hotels with suites at that intersection.  I refer you to online rating sites for recommendations.  Also, lots of dining opportunities west on 2nd street.

Airbnb shows 93 places in the area. More if you expand a bit. I’ve found finding an Airbnb with a garage is the way to go. In general cheaper than a hotel, more comfortable, more secure. 
and if you can find another shooter to share it can be very inexpensive.

Thanks Hoss... we went with Airbnb in 2022. When we arrived we discovered the place was not a Airbnb home. Had to have them find us place and we weren't that pleased with what we got. We had to clean it and repair plumbing issues. Originally went with again this year and paid full price. Three months later I was notified that they cancelled the reservation and refunded the payment. Went with VRBO... same outcome. However, homes are cheaper than rooms in a hotel so I'll checkout Airbnb again.

I may be lucky. I’ve never had a problem with Airbnb. Once a house cancelled about 6 months ahead, but I had no problem finding an alternate.

The La Quinta had gone down in quality the last time we stayed there, that's been a couple of years, but there were roaches in the room and as far as we could tell they never came and sprayed the room...
