De Quervains tenosynovitis

So this is what I have. It comes from repetitive motion. Tuning pianos !! My right hand is hurting. Doc said try this brace and ice and layoff what I’m doing for a couple weeks. Time to retire 100% I say! I’m semi retired, I do maybe one piano a day.

I played lead trumpet for too many years.  My condition was called hernia. I knew what I had before the doc told me though. :o

 

Them musical instruments are dangerous to one's health.

 

Eveyone I know who is retired highly recommends it, fwiw.

You may need injections of corticosteroid medications into the tendon covering to reduce swelling. If treatment begins within the first six months of symptoms, most people recover completely after receiving corticosteroid injections, often after just one injection. Pay the lady.
