Not in this house.  If I can't put them on the smoker, I'll broil them in the oven.  Never, ever would I boil a beautiful piece of meat such as that.

I'll par-cook in a heavily seasoned broth before putting them on the grill or in the broiler.

The only ones that I'll do anything with different than putting in the smoker and grill is elk or moose ribs. The meat is pretty tough and grilling just makes it tougher. I pressure cook the ribs for about 5 minutes to tenderize and them put them on the grill.
